Mr. Khan currently offers in-person lessons on sitar, tabla, and vocal classes from his home outside Philadelphia, PA. In addition to sitar and tabla, he can adapt the teaching of Indian Classical music to other instruments such as esraj, harmonium, keyboard, violin, guitar, cello, etc. Mr. Khan's students travel from as far as North Carolina, South Carolina, Nevada, Washington D.C., New York, and Delaware. Ustad Shafaat Khan now also offers music lessons over Skype.
In addition to teaching at the University of Pennsylvania for three years in the Department of South Asian Regional Studies, during the Fall of 1999 Mr. Khan was also invited as an artist in residence at Lafayette College in Easton, PA where he taught a course in World Music.
