Ustad Ibrahim Khan is one of the greatly respected tabla players of India, known for his authentic style in the Rampur Gharana. He initially learned tabla from his father, the esteemed Mehboob Khan, and then from Ustad Masit Khan of the Farukkhabad Gharana. Ibrahim Khan has gone on to accompany many of the legendary masters of India including vocalists Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Amir Khan, & Salamat Ali Khan, and instrumentalists such as Imrat Khan. In addition to being an accomplished musician, Ibrahim Khan is also a great philosopher, poet, and scholar. His knowledge extends far beyond the realm of tabla. He has taught tabla to many of the noted artists of India, and Shafaat Khan is his foremost disciple.
